This garden was a full redesign, gently sloping from the house to the garage at the bottom, it needed structure to take your attention away from the boundaries, without losing the lovely countryside view. The brief was a low maintenance garden to accommodate dining for four people and another seating area for relaxing. The space has been divided into distinct areas using oak sleeper beds, creating raised areas for planting. The Oak is repeated in the series of contemporary arches framing the view to the countryside beyond.
A fretwork panel works as a focal point to take your eye away from the fence. Low level lighting around the dining area creates an intimate atmosphere alongside the subtle uplighter for the tree and fretwork panel.
Planting for year round interest includes standard topiary, perennials, grasses and bulbs as well as climbing plants on the fence and obelisks.
